Vintage Velvet Strawberry Pincushion with Silver Star Crown
This beautiful, deep red vintage velvet strawberry pin cushion is made with a very old velvet sash from the 1930’s found recently at an antique store and it had these Incredible ornamental silver metal stars pinned to it. Inspired by images of Victorian velvet strawberries with silver bead caps stitched to the top I asked my husband to drill holes In the star, two in the center like buttonholes and then one at the tip of each point so I could stitch it to the strawberry. The silver tassel tied to the top is an absolutely stunning piece of vintage silver metallic trim made in France with a beautiful patina. The materials used to create this velvet pincushion are nearly 100 years old and do show some signs of the original patina and age.
This velvet strawberry pin cushion is filled with sawdust and emery sand for a lovely weight and measures approximately 2 inches tall not including the vintage silver tassel.
