Every summer as the berries are ripening in the sun I have stitched velvet strawberries with my collection of vintage velvet fabrics and hand dyed trims. I am so excited to be able to share with you these 5 new velvet strawberry patterns so you can make your own lovely heirloom pincushions and ornaments.
This online class and kit comes with a 90 minute online step-by-step video tutorial hosted by Youtube for creating your beautiful velvet strawberries. Each step carefully demonstrates how to create your strawberries in 5 different sizes. Lots of photos and ideas are included to show you how to ombre dye your velvet and customize your trims. The kit contains all the materials you will need to create all 5 of the strawberries shown and additional materials to continue stitching. Each kit includes:
Vintage and hand dyed velvet, hand dyed ombre silk ribbons, glass pearl beads, velvet leaves, specialty applique pins and 2 Bohin needles for stitching and beading, a needle threader, 5 bobbins of thread including a gorgeous variegated Valdani embroidery thread, pattern papers, a dyed muslin bag with 2 stuffing materials and a tiny strawberry charm,a complete dye kit with gloves, pipettes, cups and dyes, silk and velvet ribbons and vintage trims, 2 glues and a patterns and supply list.
To complete this project you will need the following:
Scissors, pen, an apron for dyeing and a paint brush for glue. A sewing machine is optional as this project can be completed by hand.
