This Silk Velvet Sacred Heart kit comes with all the materials you will need to make your beautiful embroidered heart and a link to a step by step video tutorial.
Each kit includes 2 pieces hand dyed ombre velvet approx. 11 X 10 inches, one pink and one aqua, enough to make 4 large hearts with some velvet left over, hand dyed ribbons, floss and floral trims, embroidery floss, beads, beading needle, tulle, vintage millinery flowers, vintage trim, enough crepe paper ruffles for 2 of the large hearts, cotton stuffing, vintage linen fabric for the backing, photo, patterns and supply list.
To complete this project you will need sewing threads in regular and heavy weight, fabric and paper scissors, assorted hand sewing needles, glue stick, tacky glue and glue gun.
Fabric content Rayon and Silk. If you are using the velvet on a garment that will be washed or where it may will get wet please prewash as dyed velvet may not be 100% colorfast, variations in color are to be expected on each one of a kind piece.
**Last photo shows a smaller velvet heart on a chain for reference and inspiration . The pattern to make this smaller heart is included in this kit but no specific instructions are included to make this smaller heart and no materials will be included to make the chain. To make this smaller pendant heart follow the steps for the larger heart and omit the step adding the crepe paper ruffles. I stitched my backing piece in place and added a metal bail at the top and a bead dangle to the bottom of the pendant heart.
I love using silk velvet fabrics in my fabric books, embroidery pieces and for velvet pumpkins and velvet mushrooms. This unique hand dyed velvet is lovely for crazy quilt pieces, millinery flower making, doll clothes and headbands.
