Vintage Red Velvet Strawberry Pincushion with Silver Bouillon Cap
This vintage velvet strawberry pin cushion is made from a very old red velvet sash from the 1930’s found recently at an antique store. The vintage silver bouillon cap is very worn and beautifully tarnished, part of a beaded ornament that was stitched on either side of a vintage ladies 1950s cocktail hat. The bouillon piece is stitched to the top of the strawberry with vintage silver thread.
The silver tassel tied to the top is an absolutely stunning piece of vintage silver metallic trim made in France with a beautiful patina. The materials used to create this velvet pincushion are nearly 100 years old and do show signs of the original patina and age. Tiny seeds are stitched all over the velvet strawberry.
This velvet strawberry pin cushion is filled with sawdust and emery sand for a lovely weight and measures approximately 2 .5 inches tall not including the vintage silver tassel.
